Abrasive Blasting

If cosmetic appearance is critical, we have a solution for you at BDF.  With our in-house abrasive blasting capabilities, we can give your manifolds a smooth, uniform appearance. 

Our blasting capabilities are virtually limitless, and we will blast anything that will fit in our 8’ X 20’ booth.  Blasting media depends on application but we typically use glass beads, aluminum-oxide, or plastic.  If you have a specific media that you need us to use, just contact us.

Note - When designing stainless steel manifolds, corrosion resistance and cosmetic appearance of stainless steel can be maximized by glass beading followed by passivating. This sequence serves to remove as much free iron as possible from the surface of the stainless steel, allowing it to have a long, corrosion and rust free life.
